JEE Main 2023: Most students claimed that Physics part was the easiest, Chemistry paper was easy to moderate, while Mathematics was of moderate level

National Testing Agency (NTA) started session 1 Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 Today, January 24th. The paper was of easy to moderate level. Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director (Engineering), Aakash BYJU’S said, “The first shift paper had some good questions scattered here and there in the three subjects.

He said that most of the students claimed that Physics part was the easiest, Chemistry paper was easy to moderate, while Mathematics was of moderate level. Sharma said, “Chemistry was memory based while maths was calculative but students were able to complete the paper in a given time.”

Students claim that the Mathematics part was moderate but a bit lengthy. Five to six questions were asked in Calculus. There were at least five questions from Algebra, two questions from Coordinate Geometry and two or three questions from Trigonometry. Chapters like Vectors, 3D Geometry and Probability have also got representation in this paper.

The questions were set from covering all the topics in Physics. Students were tested on a simple level of applicability of the concepts. The number of numericals was more as compared to theory questions. Questions were asked from Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Optics, Magnetism, Modern Physics and other chapters.

He said that the chemistry portion was on predictable lines. Students claimed that the physical part was less as compared to organic and inorganic chemistry. All the questions from Organic Chemistry were asked in MCQ form. Chemistry in Everyday Life, GOC, Aldehydes, Ketones and Biomolecules are the topics from which a significant number of questions were asked.

JEE Main session is being conducted at various centers located in 290 cities across the country and 18 cities outside India. As per the schedule, JEE Main 2023 for BE/BTech will be held on January 24, 25, 29, 30, 31 and February 1, 2023.
