Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last on 6 February at the age of 92.
Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar condoled the demise of Lata Mangeshkar late last night, as can be seen from her latest social media post. Taking to his Twitter handle on Thursday, Akhtar posted a picture from a recent event he attended along with the veteran singer. In the picture, Mangeshkar can be seen smiling dressed in a white saree with pink flower border. Akhtar is also looking happy standing behind him.
“Maybe this was the last public event we attended together,” he tweeted.
After the demise of Lata Mangeshkar, Javed Akhtar reached the great singer’s house to pay his last respects. was with them Anupam KherBhagyashree, Shradha Kapoor, Ashutosh Gowariker.
Mangeshkar and Akhtar had worked together on several melodious songs including ‘Tere Liye’ from ‘Veer-Zaara’ and ‘Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum’ from ‘Silsila’.
Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last on 6 February at the age of 92. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on January 8 after being diagnosed with COVID-19 and pneumonia. He was cremated with full state honors in Mumbai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present at the funeral of the famous singer.
