After weeks of speculations on Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar’s wedding, the groom’s father, lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar has finally confirmed it. According to a report in Bombay Times, he confirmed the news that Farhan and Shibani will have a court marriage on February 21, followed by an intimate ceremony that will be attended by their close friends and family at their Khandala home.
“Yes, the wedding is taking place. The rest are wedding preparations, which are being looked after by the wedding planners.”
He said, “Considering the situation, it is clear that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people. It will be a very simple matter. Well yet so far even invitations. have not been sent.”
Akhtar also left a lovely message for his daughter-in-law. “She’s a very nice girl. We all like her a lot. Most importantly, Farhan and she have a good friendship, which is great.”
Earlier, a source quoted by BollywoodLife had told that after the February court marriage, they will have a grand wedding in April. After the court marriage in February, Farhan and Shibani have now decided to have a grand wedding in April. The couple had earlier decided to have an intimate wedding due to the pandemic and the rise in the COVID-19 and Omicron threat. But now that things are getting under control, the couple has now thought of doing it in a grand manner by following all the protocols. The couple has chosen to wear Sabyasachi and their wedding dresses are being made and they all want to keep it extremely intimate.”
Looks like Farhan Akhtar and VJ Shibani Dandekar will be one of the first Bollywood couples to get married this year.
