Jasmin Bhasin Reveals Being Replaced by Starkids at the Last Moment, Says She ‘Won’t Give Up’ | Exclusive

Though she had made a mark in the television and south film industries with her talent, actor Jasmin Bhasin became an overnight sensation with her stint in Bigg Boss 14. He may not have taken home the trophy, but it opened doors. She featured in a bunch of music videos and in October this year, she entered the Punjabi film industry with actor-singer Gippy Grewal in a comedy-drama titled Honeymoon.

And now, she’s all set to make her Bollywood Debut with veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. In an exclusive interview with News18, she says that though her fans were waiting, she decided to take her time before choosing her first Hindi film. Talking about it, she shares, “I am someone who believes that your first should always be special. We always remember our first love and first kiss. I follow that mantra in my career as well.

Although a lot of offers came her way, Jasmin felt that focusing on her debut film was a decision that needed to be taken after much thought and consideration. “When I started doing television, I made sure that my first show was liked and loved by everyone. I thought it was a great set-up for me to debut. I have been getting a lot of offers for Hindi and regional films in the past, but I always wanted my debut to be perfect. I needed to be put in the right spot,” she explains.

Like many of her contemporaries who have gone on to do web shows, Jasmine too is open to the medium but is currently waiting for all her check boxes to be ticked. She elaborates, “There are so many offers that come my way every day but I need to be mentally confident first and everything has to be in place. But it will be soon as I am really working on it. It is just that I am waiting for the right project, set-up and people.

But being an outsider, does he also face competition from star kids who are trying to carry forward their family’s legacy? “I have been replaced at the last minute when I just started out and then I moved into television. I’m still going through all that, but I don’t complain about it because maybe my place will be taken not just by a star kid but also by a newcomer like me.”

Gaurav’s road may be a tough one, but he is ready to face challenges with great enthusiasm, claims the star, who was also a part of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi – Made in India. “All we have to do is work hard, luck comes from above by getting us written. All I know is that no matter what situation I am in, I will not give up. No one will break me I will keep working for my dream. Even if it doesn’t work out in the end, I want to be happy thinking that I tried my best. That’s how everyone should look at things,” she says.

An optimist, Jasmine believes that artists – regardless of their background – have access to more and more opportunities today, and this has helped her fulfill her dream. “I see too many people using their fear that someone else will be put in their place as an excuse. We don’t know whether someone else will take our place or not but we have to at least try. Now our options have increased because of the OTT boom. Today actors are getting opportunities because of their hard work and talent. If you have the right skills and are honest, you will definitely get the right opportunities.”
