Janhvi Kapoor, all set for the release of Ulajh, has opened up about her hospitalisation.

Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor was hospitalised due to severe food poisoning. A family source told indianexpress.com that she was admitted to South Mumbai’s HN Reliance Hospital on Thursday and has since been discharged. Her father, Boney Kapoor, confirmed she is “much better now.” Janhvi, all set for the release of Ulajh, spoke about her hospitalisation. In an interview with Times Now, she said it was her first time being hospitalised, and it left her exhausted.

A source told the publication that Janhvi returned to Mumbai from Chennai on Tuesday. She felt unwell on Wednesday, stayed home, and rescheduled her appointments. Janhvi told the news portal, “I went to Chennai for half a day and I think I ate something funky at the airport or I don’t know what, because initially, we thought it was a stomach bug, but it wasn’t because my blood parameters, when they took all of these tests, were all over the place. After my stomach settled, it was just body ache, weakness, shivering and shaking.”

Janhvi has described the experience as “scary”. Tests showed her liver enzymes were very high, alarming the doctors. During the time she spent at the hospital, she felt stuck and was mainly concerned with “looking fit” for a song and meeting deadlines. She remembered being very sick just before her flight to Hyderabad, feeling unable to move. She felt “handicapped” and “paralyzed,” and couldn’t even go to the bathroom by herself. “I wasn’t being able to go to the restroom on my own. I wasn’t in any condition to speak or walk or even eat. I think my body needed that rest that it got in the hospital,” she said.

Apart from Ulajh, Janhvi Kapoor will appear in director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s upcoming drama film Karna. The film also features Shahid Kapoor and Suriya in the lead roles. Meanwhile, Gulshan has also completed the filming of director Kaushal Oza’s upcoming comedy-drama film Little Thomas.

Ulajh follows the journey of a young IFS officer (Janhvi) who comes from a prominent family of patriots. While working at an important post far from home, she gets caught up in a dangerous personal conspiracy. The film also features Rajesh Tailang, Adil Hussain, Arun Malik ( as Indian High Commissioner), Jitendra Joshi, Meiyang Chang and more in significant roles.
