New Delhi: Security forces gunned down two terrorists in separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
One terrorist was killed in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district during the day, while another was killed in the evening in Srinagar city, news agency PTI reported.

Acting on specific inputs about the presence of terrorists in the Chawlgam area of Kulgam, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation, a police official said.
He said as the forces were conducting searches in the area, the terrorists opened fire on them.
The official said the security forces retaliated following which an encounter ensued in which one terrorist was killed. He further informed that the identity and group affiliation of the slain Ultra is being ascertained.
Later in the evening, another terrorist was gunned down in a separate encounter between terrorists and security forces in Bemina area of Srinagar.
An unidentified terrorist was killed in an encounter in Srinagar and an AK rifle along with ammunition was recovered, Jammu and Kashmir Police said.

He said the area was being searched and more details about the operation would emerge, news agency ANI reported.
