Jammu: Two Indian Army personnel were seriously injured in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Thursday.

PRO Defense said that an ongoing counter-terrorist operation in Nar Khas Jungle, a general area of ​​Mendhar sub-division, saw an exchange of fire between Army personnel and terrorists this evening, PTI reported.

He said a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and a soldier were seriously injured during the encounter and the operation is on.

Earlier on Monday, five jawans, including a JCO, were killed in a gunfight with heavily armed terrorists in a forested area in Surankote in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

Earlier on September 26, two unidentified terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier on September 12, an unidentified terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces after a search operation in Rajouri district.

Earlier on August 19, an army soldier was martyred in an encounter between terrorists and the Indian Army in Thanamandi area of ​​Rajouri district. One terrorist was also killed during the operation.
