Jammu and Kashmir: Terrorist killed in encounter in Khagund Verinag area of Anantnag
A terrorist was killed and a policeman was injured in an ongoing encounter between terrorists and security forces in Khagund Verinag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday morning.
Police said, “One unidentified terrorist killed. One policeman injured. Operation is on.”
Earlier, a joint team of police and security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation based on specific inputs about the presence of militants, after the exchange of fire broke out between the terrorists and the security forces.
As the security forces reached the spot where the terrorists were hiding, they came under heavy fire, triggering an encounter.
