Srinagar: A Jammu and Kashmir police officer was shot dead and two policemen injured in an attack by terrorists on a naka party near GD Goenka School in Srinagar’s Lal Bazar area on Tuesday (July 12) evening. Earlier, the Kashmir Zone Police had said in a tweet that terrorists opened fire on a police party, injuring three policemen.

“Terrorists opened fire on Police Naka party in Lal Bazar area of ​​Srinagar city. Three police personnel were injured in this terrorist incident and have been admitted to the hospital. The area has been cordoned off. Further details will be followed,” Kashmir Zone Police had tweeted.

Later, Kashmir Zone Police informed, “ASI Mushtaq Ahmed succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom. We pay tribute to the martyr for the supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty. The other two injured personnel were treated. going. Further details to follow.” Soon after the attack, the entire area was cordoned off and a search operation was launched to nab the terrorists.
