Jammu and Kashmir: NIA raids at many places in Baramulla

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday conducted several raids in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the information, raids are being conducted in Pattan area of Baramulla district in the Union Territory.
NIA sources said that the raids started early in the day at several places in Pattan area.
“The places where raids are currently being conducted include residences of former district presidents of Jamaat-e-Islami Abdul Ghani Wani and Pir Tanveer,” sources said.
“Further information will be shared with the media after the raids,” he said.
Last month, 10 overground workers (OGWs) of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror outfit were arrested during raids in areas of south and central Kashmir.
SIA sources said that these raids were carried out at different places in the night.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration on November 1 announced the formation of a new investigative agency, the State Investigation Agency (SIA), to probe terror-related cases. The announcement came days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Union Territory (UT).
