baramulla news: A terrorist associate of banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was arrested today (July 5) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district and arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession, police said.
Police said that on a specific information about the movement of terrorists in Nowpora Jagir Kreri village, police along with Army and SSB launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
“During the search, a suspect tried to flee upon seeing the joint team, but was apprehended,” police said. He has been identified as Mohammad Sidiq Lone, a resident of Nowpora Jagir Kreeri.
Arms and ammunition including one pistol, one pistol magazine and three pistol rounds were recovered from his possession.
During preliminary interrogation, he disclosed that he was working as a terrorist associate of banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and was in touch with Sopore based active terrorists Adil Dantu and foreign terrorist from Pakistan Usman Bhai, besides Received arms and ammunition from these terrorists for targeted killings. He said that a case has been registered and investigation has been started.
