Jaipur Zilla Parishad Elections: 25 Wards Out of 51 Booked for Women | Jaipur News – Times of India

Jaipur: District Collector and Election Officer Antar Singh Nehra told that out of 51 ward Under Jaipur Zilla Parishad, 25 wards were reserved for women, nine for Scheduled Castes (SC), six for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 10 for Other Backward Classes.OBC) and 26 were reserved for normal range via lottery on thursday
Out of these, 13 wards were reserved for general category women, five for OBC women, three for ST women and four for SC women. The lottery was organized in view of the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections to be held in 12 districts across the state.
The District Election Officer said that the ward numbers 2, 12, 18, 33 and 47 of Jaipur district panchayat are reserved for the scheduled caste category and ward number 1, 3, 4 and 42 are reserved for the women of the scheduled caste. Ward numbers 25, 27, 30 were reserved for ST category and ward numbers 7, 32 and 50 were reserved for ST women. Ward numbers 20, 23, 24, 37 and 48 were reserved for OBCs and ward numbers 6, 26, 36, 39 and 49 were reserved for OBC women. Similarly ward number 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 21, 29, 34, 38, 41, 45 for general category and ward number 5, 9, 17, 19, 22, 28, 31, 35, 40, 43, 44, 46, 51 were reserved for general category women.
Meanwhile, for the election positions Of the 23 members of Paota Panchayat Samiti, three posts were reserved for SC, two for ST, five for OBC and 13 for general category. Of these, 11 posts were reserved for women through lottery – one for SC women, one for ST women, two posts for OBC women and 7 posts for general category women.
Also, for the election of 27 members of Bassi Panchayat Samiti, six posts were reserved for SC, six for ST, one post for OBC and 14 for general category. Of these, 13 posts were reserved for women – 3 each for SC and ST women and 7 for general category women.
