In Indore, a Digambar Jain saint hanged himself inside a dharamshala in Pardesipura area on Saturday evening. The name of the saint is Acharya Shri 108 Vimad Sagar Maharaj. According to the information, he had come to Indore in connection with Chaturmas. Police is currently collecting information.
At the same time, hundreds of devotees of Jain society have gathered on the spot. The reasons for the suicide have not been disclosed yet. Here, CSP Nihit Upadhyay told that the body of the saint was hanging from the fan in Dharamsala and the door was locked from inside. The people of the society brought him down. The death has taken place under suspicious circumstances, so there will be a thorough investigation in a legal way.
According to Upadhyaya, Jain monks were staying in a dharamsala near the Jain temple in Nanda Nagar. After getting the information, other officers including Pardesipura police station in-charge have reached the spot. At the same time, many people of Jain society including the team of FSL are also influx.
Disciple Anil Jain saw hanging from the fan
The 45-year-old Jain saint was a resident of Shahgarh in Sagar district. Three days ago, he had come from a colony located at Aerodrome for Chaturmas in Gali Nanda Nagar, number 3 of Indore. On Saturday evening at 4.30 pm, his disciple Anil Jain saw him hanging from the fan. He informed the police.

According to the information received from Pashvanarth Digambar Jain Temple Nandanagar Management, Acharya Vimad Sagar Maharaj had come to the temple located at Nandanagar from Leeds in Aerodrome area on 27 October. His discourses were held here daily from 9 am to 10 am. After this, he used to do diet except one day. On Saturday also he went on diet. Arrived for the timetable at around 2.30 pm. In the evening the community came to know about the incident.

According to Pratipal Tongya, president of Digambar Jain Mahavir Jinalaya located in Gumashta Nagar, 8 months ago, Acharya Vimad Sagar ji came to Indore after visiting Ratlam. He stayed here during Chaturmas. Here daily discourses and diets were held. Vihar took place from Gumashta Nagar temple only last 25 days.

Acharya Shri 108 Vimad Sagar Ji Maharaj’s name was Sanjay Kumar Jain in his household. He was born on 9 November 1976. His mother’s name is Sushila and father is Sheelchand Jain. Father has been a malaria inspector. He had studied till 9th standard. He took a lifelong celibacy fast on 8 October 1992.
He took Ksullaka Diksha from Acharya Shri Virag Sagar Ji Maharaj on 28 January 1996 at Mangalagiri in Sagar. After this, Ailak Diksha was taken on 28 June 1998 at Shoripur, Shikohabad. He also took initiation from Virag Sagar Ji Maharaj on 14 September 1998 at Baraso in Bhind.
