Jahangirpuri violence: Amit Shah talks to top cop in Delhi, asks for necessary action

New Delhi: Official sources said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday spoke to two top Delhi Police officials on the incident of violence in Jahangirpuri area of ​​the city and directed them to take necessary action.

According to sources close to news agency PTI, the Home Minister spoke to the Police Commissioner and Special Commissioner (Law and Order) and asked them to take all necessary action after the Jahangirpuri violence incident.

The police force also informed top officials of the Union Home Ministry about the incident of violence that took place during a procession on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in the national capital.

Sources said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has given necessary instructions to the Delhi Police and is also monitoring the situation.

Sources said that Delhi Police has deployed adequate security personnel, including senior officers, to control the situation. He also said that apart from Jahangirpuri, additional forces have been deployed in other sensitive areas.

Notably, violence broke out during a Hanuman Jayanti procession in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area on Saturday, police said.

According to officials, miscreants vandalized several vehicles and injured police personnel in the incident.

Meanwhile, the Lt Governor condemned the incidents of violence and stone pelting in the national capital and said that no one would be spared behind these activities. He also took stock of the situation with CP, Delhi and appealed to the people to maintain peace.

Special Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Deependra Pathak, was quoted by news agency ANI as saying, “The situation is under control. We are trying to create a peaceful atmosphere by holding talks with the peace committees and appealing to all to maintain peace.” . “
