Mumbai Indians posted Shahid Kapoor’s picture from the Wankhede Stadium and captioned it with the name of his iconic film.
Bollywood superstar Shahid Kapoor is seen watching the Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Indian Premier League match at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. It is a crucial match for both the sides as the winner will automatically move up to the third spot on the points table, which puts pressure on both the teams to bring their A-game to the table.
Mumbai Indians posted Shahid’s picture from the Wankhede Stadium and captioned it with the name of his iconic film.
“When we met at Wankhede #OneFamily #MIvRCB #MumbaiMeriJaan #MumbaiIndians #IPL2023 @shahidkapoor,” MI captioned the post.
However, this was not the first time that Shahid had come out to support Mumbai Indians as in the past too he had expressed his support for the five-time IPL champions. Shahid also acted in a few cricket-centric films – Jersey and Dil Bole Hadippa.
Fans on Twitter were excited to see the Bollywood star at the Wankhede Stadium.
While Chris Jordan was given a chance to make his debut for Mumbai Indians as skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Jordan comes in place of his English compatriot Jofra Archer, who has flown home to manage his injury rehabilitation.
During the toss, Rohit said, “Good pitch, chased the target well, good chance to score runs in front of us.”
“(It is a) typical Mumbai pitch. There is little grass cover, but there are some dry spots. Not sure how this will play out. We never paid so much attention to the table, focused on playing good cricket, the rest will take care of itself, said the Mumbai Indians captain.
Royal Challengers Bangalore also made one change in their playing XI, bringing in Vijaykumar Vaishak in place of Karn Sharma.
“Normally we want to come here and chase. With the extra batsman due to the impact player rule, if we can post a big score, it will create scoreboard pressure. It is a time of crisis, many teams are in the race for the third and fourth places. After the toss, RCB captain Faf du Plessis said, ‘Need to play good cricket focusing on that.
