According to a state government release, Albanese was welcomed by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at the Raj Bhavan with paint on his face as a mark of Holi celebrations.
The ‘Holi Celebrations’ program was organized by the Governor in honor of the visiting dignitary and his delegation. The release said that several ministers of the state, including the Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Shankar Choudhary, were present on the occasion.
The Australian leader posted pictures of the event on Twitter and wrote, “Honored to be celebrating Holi in Ahmedabad, India. Holi’s message of Navnirman through victory of good over evil is a lasting reminder to all of us.” “
“Happy Holi to everyone celebrating at home in Australia,” he said in another post.
US President Joe Biden also shared Holi wishes on Twitter. He wrote, “I wish the happiest Holi to all who celebrate love, laughter, goodness and the arrival of spring during the festival of colors today.”

Meanwhile, US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo along with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday celebrated Holi in the country at Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s official residence in New Delhi.
“Colors of friendship. Wonderful to have US Commerce Secretary @SecRaimondo & his colleagues join Holi celebrations at Defense Minister @RajnathSingh ji’s residence,” Goyal said in a tweet.
“It is an honor for me to be here on such a holiday. I felt very welcomed by the minister, it is wonderful. Happy Holi!” Raimondo was quoted as saying by ANI.
