Mumbai will face Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy final starting on Wednesday, June 22. Heading towards the final match, Mumbai have put up a strong batting performance till this stage. In Sarfaraz Khan, he has the highest run-scorer this season, and in Yashasvi Jaiswal he has someone who has scored twin centuries in the semi-finals.

Mumbai are worried about skipper Prithvi Shaw, who has not scored a century in the knockouts despite making a start. However, Shaw was not bothered about not scoring a century before the final and said that it was only a matter of time before he started in the middle of the balls.

“I have scored a few (three) half-centuries, but that is not enough for me and nobody even congratulated me after scoring fifty and you also feel bad (jokingly),” the Mumbai captain said.

“It happens sometimes but I am happy that my team is doing well. As a captain, I have to think about all the 21 players I have met here, not just me.”

“In cricket and in life, the graph always goes up and down and it’s not always going to go up. So it’s only a matter of time before I put those balls in the middle and get big runs again. But right now, I want Make sure my team is doing well and enjoying their game.”

Shaw was widely appreciated ever since he was out on the scene, but he fell down the pecking order due to concerns about his fitness. However, he said that it is something that is not bothering him at the moment.

“It is nowhere in my mind that you know a comeback in the Indian team. Getting the cup is my main objective and thinking of nothing but winning it. The preparation we have done for the Ranji Trophy and what is happening outside Not focusing on that. It’s about winning Ranji Trophy and getting back those happy moments,” said Shaw.

Shaw will be hoping his batsmen perform one last time against a formidable spin attack from Madhya Pradesh that decimated Bengal. The right-handed batsman will be confident of taking Mumbai to the trophy along with players like Shams Mulani, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Armaan Jaffer.
