Branson Blake Lively’s It Ends With Us releases at the same time Deadpool & Wolverine is running in theatres.
Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni and Brandon Sklenar starrer It Ends With Us is all set to hit theatres this weekend. Ahead of the film’s release, Sklenar was right beside his co-stars at the New York City premiere of It Ends With Us on Tuesday, where he spoke to the media on various topics. Apart from his own film, Sklenar also had a lot to say about Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine. In a conversation with Extra TV, the actor opened up about his feelings upon meeting Jackman and also said he would love to play the MCU character.
“I mean, I was like a little kid. I didn’t know he was going to be there until, like, a couple of hours before. He was like, ‘How you doing?’ and I was like, ‘I’m good.’ He’s one of the reasons I am an actor. The man’s incredible; it’s insane,” he said.
On being asked if he would love to play the beloved Adamantium-clawed superhero, Sklenar added, “I feel he might drop playing that role or he might play the role till he’s an old man, but yeah, those would be big shoes to fill, but I would take a swing at that.
While Brandon Sklenar couldn’t help but rejoice over his fanboy moment after meeting Hugh Jackman, the latter was in the mood to have some fun. Joining Lively’s husband and his Deadpool & Wolverine co-star Ryan Reynolds, Jackman hilariously warned Sklenar about flirting with the actress. While Reynolds already made the interview quite awkward for the It Ends With Us actor, the Wolverine star showed up and said, “It’s not every day a guy gets to interview the love interest of his best friend’s wife, and the guy trying to replace Ryan as a husband. And me as his best mate.”
He just didn’t stop here and further asked, “I’ve just got one question. What the hell are you doing, messing with my best buddy’s wife?”
In his defense, Sklenar called himself a big fan of Jackman. The conversation hilariously ended with the interviewers gushing over the actor’s looks.
Speaking about the film, the Colleen Hoover novel adaptation is focused on Lily Bloom (Lively), who has had a tragic childhood but manages to survive it. As she grows up, she crosses paths with her first love Atlas Corrigan (Sklenar), however, also struggles with her volatile relationship with her boyfriend Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni).
