Tejaswini Sawant and Sanjeev Rajput finished fifth in the 50m rifle three position mixed team event while India won a bronze medal in the bronze medal match at the ISSF Shooting World Cup here on Tuesday.

Sawant and Rajput combined for a score of 581 with 28 inner 10s in qualification part two, one less than the Hungarian fourth team of Eztor Mazaros and István Péni, who made the cut for the bronze medal match.

In the first half of the qualification, from where the top eight progress to Stage 2, another Indian pair of Anjum Moudgil and Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar were eliminated with ninth place behind Sawant and Rajput.

Both pairs posted a similar score of 873, but Sawant and Rajput led the way due to their high internal 10 count of 45, compared to 43 by Moudgil and Tomar.

Rahi Sarnobat displayed sensational form on Monday to clinch a gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol, India’s first in the ongoing edition.

Earlier, Manu Bhaker along with Saurabh Chaudhary won the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Silver Medal.

She also won bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol team along with Sarnobat and Yashaswini Deswal. Earlier, Choudhary had won the men’s 10m air pistol individual bronze medal.
