ISSF World Cup 2022: Saurabh & Co miss out on team bronze in men’s air pistol

The Indian trio of Olympians Saurabh Chaudhary, Gaurav Rana and Uchganwe Kedarling Balakrishna missed out on a bronze medal in the men’s team air pistol event of the ISSF World Cup here on Wednesday.

In the bronze medal match, the Indian pistol team finished fourth behind Italy’s Toracchi Alessio, Mona Paolo and Tesconi Luca, who scored a total of 16 points.

In the qualification stage 2, the Indians posted a total of 581 ahead of their Italian counterparts (577).

The overall score of Indians in the first qualification was 765.

Earlier in the day, the Indian team of Rudrankash Balasaheb Patil, Divyansh Singh Panwar and Srinjoy Dutta missed out on a place in the bronze medal event by one point in the men’s team air rifle event of the first World Cup of the year.

The Indian men’s rifle team scored a total of 624.1 points, just one point less than the Czech Republic’s Ales Antrichel, Jiri Privratsky and Filip Napejel’s total of 624.2.

The Czechs won the bronze medal ahead of Austria.

The Indian team of Shreya Agarwal, Ayushi Gupta and Rajshree Sancheti finished seventh with an aggregate score of 625.0 in the qualification stage 2 of the women’s 10m air rifle team event.
