The video then quickly shifts to what Gellar says is the real reason behind his video: pokemon,
Gellar filed suit 20 years ago against nintendo Because of one of his Pokémon, Kadabra. This spoon-wielding psychic-type Pokémon was named “Yungelar” in Japanese, something Gellar took offense to as an inappropriate use of his likeness.
This is far from unprecedented, as many iconic Pokémon have also been named after real-life figures.
Recently, the card was allowed to be put back into circulation.
“I built a shrine for the Yungler Pokémon!” Gellar announces, showing an entire exhibit dedicated to Gen 1 Psychic-type Pokémon.
He then took out an extra large copy of the upcoming Kadabra card.
“I’m so happy, I love Nintendo, I love pokemon And I love the fact that you all can have a Yungeler card again,” he said.
