ISL Transfer News: Parag Srivas signs a new 3-year deal with Bengaluru FC

Bengaluru FC announced that defender Parag Srivas has signed a new three-year deal with the Indian Super League (ISL) club on Saturday that will keep him with the Blues till the end of the 2024-25 season.

The 25-year-old, who joined the club in 2017 as part of its residential academy, made his first team debut in February 2019, being named BFC B Player of the Season later that year.

“I am really happy to sign a new contract with Bengaluru FC. I have evolved a lot as a player since joining the club five years ago and I look forward to contributing more under the new coach in the coming season. I can’t wait to rejoin the team and start the pre-season,” Parag said after completing the formalities on his deal.

Born in Amaravati, Parag moved to Pune FC Academy in 2017 before joining the Bengaluru FC residential academy under the then head coach of the Blue Colts, Naushad Moosa. In five years, Parag has represented the Blues first team in the AFC. Cup, Durand Cup and Indian Super League.

“In the last two seasons, I have had more chances to play for the first team and that has certainly been a motivating factor for me to sign a new contract. I am thankful to my teammates, coaches and the club’s management for giving me the right guidance and I want to make the best use of the opportunities that come my way in the future,” Parag said.

Prior to joining the Bengaluru first team, Parag played for Bengaluru FC B in the Puttaya Memorial Cup, BDFA Super Division League and I-League 2nd Division between 2017 and 2019.

Since his Indian Super League debut in 2019, Parag has made 27 appearances in the competition, 14 of which have come in the most recent 2021–22 campaign. Versatile in his position, Parag has turned out to be a full-back and centre-back on any occasion.
