“I’m happy to be here. I can’t wait for the season to start. I want to win as many games as possible for SC East Bengal, and keep as many clean sheets as possible,” Arindam summed up the move. Said after doing

“I will also try to keep the dressing room very tight and together. That’s how you win trophies and that’s what I’ll try to do with this team.”

Arindam reveals that his family members are supporters of East Bengal and it was a no brainer when given the opportunity.

“I got a lot of messages saying ‘Dada (elder brother)’ don’t leave Kolkata. To be honest, it inspired me a lot and that is one of the reasons (for me joining East Bengal).

“At home, my father and my grandfather are supporters of East Bengal. I have never played for East Bengal in my entire career of 16 years. So this time when the opportunity came, I grabbed him with both hands.

“We all know the legacy of this club and I will put my best foot forward every day to keep the red and gold flag high,” said Arindam, who stands at 6’2.

Arindam, a teenager, turned heads in Indian football with his height and ice-cold nature during the Subroto Cup in Delhi more than a decade and a half ago. He soon earned a position at the Tata Football Academy (TFA) and then worked with the India Under-19 team.

Arindam has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at club level, making his collection debut with Churchill Brothers, where he was instrumental in the Red Machines winning their first I-League in 2009.

Arindam had a stint with Mohun Bagan AC during the 2012–13 season before returning to Churchill and proved to be a vital force at their wheel, winning the Federation Cup in 2014.

Arindam was in the books of FC Pune City from 2014 to 2017 before moving to Mumbai City FC for the 2017-18 season. He joined ATK FC before the 2018-19 campaign, winning the Hero ISL Trophy with them in the 2019-20 season.

Rated as one of the country’s finest keepers, the Arindam is not only light on its feet, but has a great sense of position along with a natural ability to defend the lower back around its positions.

With an impressive save percentage of 72.85 last season, Arindam has evolved over time to not only remain a shot-stopper but also to work on his delivery.

SC East Bengal, coached by Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler, last featured in their maiden ISL campaign, finishing ninth.
