Punjab Police has exposed the fourth terror module in the state within the last 40 days, which was running with the support of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. The case pertains to the seizure of tiffin bombs and RDX from Amritsar and Jalandhar last month. He was behind the blast in an oil tanker in Amritsar on 8 August. It was blasted with IED tiffin bomb.

Taking the veil from this secret, the police have arrested 4 terrorists. On Wednesday, DGP Dinkar Gupta shared this information through a press conference in Chandigarh. One of his associates has already been arrested. Taking the matter seriously, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has issued instructions to the police to be on high alert.

The arrested terrorists have been identified as Rubal Singh, Vicky Bhatti, Malkit Singh and Gurpreet Singh. Rahul was arrested from Ambala on Tuesday, while the remaining three have been arrested from their villages in Amritsar’s Ajnala on his behest. At the same time, his fifth partner Gurmukh Singh Brar was arrested by the Kapurthala police from Jalandhar on August 20.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, DGP Dinkar Gupta told that behind this terrorist module, Lakhbir Singh Rode, chief of the banned International Sikh Youth Federation sitting in Pakistan, and Qasim are behind it. Qasim is a Pakistani intelligence officer, while Lakhbir Singh Rode alias Baba is a resident of village Rode in Moga district and is currently hiding in Pakistan.

Gurmukh Singh Rode, arrested from Jalandhar recently, is his nephew. Lakhbir Singh Rode’s brother Jasbir Singh Rode is a former Jathedar of Akal Takht. Lakhbir Singh Rode had promised to send Rs 2 lakh for the blast in the oil tanker.

The CCTV footage installed at the filling station showed that around 11 pm, four unidentified persons had come near the petrol pump and stayed there a few minutes back. The suspects returned around 11:19 pm and placed some suspicious material on the fuel tank of the oil tanker before fleeing. Then at around 11:29 pm the two suspects returned and within a minute there was an explosion and a fire.
