Rocket Boys actor Ishq Singh is looking forward to the release of the second season of his hit series. He also has a few Bollywood films in line.

While the pandemic was tough on many artistes, actor Ishwar Singh was one of those actors who got a chance to deliver two back-to-back hits with Paatal Lok (2020) and Rocket Boyz (2022). The series gave him his much needed break but the actor was already a part of the famous Bollywood Films like Raanjhanaa, Aligarh and Tamasha. Now, looking forward to the second season of his Jim Sarbh co-starring series Rocket Boys and has a few Bollywood films in his kitty, the actor looked at what 2022 holds for him.

In an exclusive conversation with News18.com, he said, ‘It was very good. We shot for Rocket Boys for a long time during the pandemic and it was very challenging. We shot a lot of both the seasons together. It was a healthy experience. When Rocket Boys 2 came out, the result and the appreciation I received was amazing and gratifying. Now that I know the second season is coming soon, I am eagerly waiting for it. There will be an expectation from the audience but we are very confident about what we have created. Season 2 is very powerful so I am very excited about it.”

When asked if he was concerned about the upcoming season clashing with its predecessor, he replied, “No, not really. If the second season was made the way it was or the way it was shot That’s how the idea must have crossed my mind. I’m sure it’s going to make a mark and find its place because more than anything it’s a story that needed to be told. It comes from an idea that is very relevant.”

The actor said that Rocket Boys gave him more credibility as an actor as it came right after the success of Paatal Lok. He shared that this helped him establish that he was not just a one-off hit. Talking about how the Abhay Pannu directorial turned things around for her, she expressed, “It has definitely done wonders. I was riding the success of Paatal Lok and soon after that Rocket Boyz happened. But when something brings you success and then you have another show or film to back it up, it immediately solidifies your status, your future and your identity as a bankable actor. It has done wonders in that sense. It has assured that I am capable of delivering again and again and it was not just a one-off thing with Paatal Lok. It really solidifies your position and gives you credibility, which is the biggest reward I could have received.”

Before making his mark with these series, the actor was seen in a few Hindi films. She also has two more films lined up namely Bas Karo Aunty and Berlin. When asked if he would like to do more films like his previous films or do side roles, he said, “It is not that these shows are less than a film. And mainstream films are also in the pipeline. I have Bas Karo Aunty and Berlin and other shows in which I am headlining. I don’t see it as a side role or main role. When you are an actor, you are bound to start somewhere and when you find success, the industry starts paying attention to you. And the lines between movies and shows are blurring anyway. People are looking for great content, wherever it comes from.”

So when it comes to films, is she worried about competition from already established insiders or rising star kids? “There will always be competition because our work is very competitive. And competition is good, healthy. There are so many talented people out there and when you land a role, deliver and find success, it just feels good that you’re not just working in an industry that has no competition but very solid competition. Is. It just makes you more confident in what you do,” she replied.

However, apart from being popular for his series and movies, the actor also enjoys a huge fan following on Instagram and the comments section of his posts prove how much he is loved by his fans. He is also ranked 18th in the Times 50 Most Desirable Men list of 2020. Ishwak admits that he loves the attention he gets on social media and also looks at the comments from time to time. “I love that kind of attention. At the end of the day, as an actor or a human being, you love being in the limelight and you love that kind of attention and appreciation. So I appreciate the audience and my audience a lot. Grateful that they give me thumbs up on my acting and my Instagram posts. Sometimes when I have time, I love to read comments and connect with fans and audience. It’s great to interact with them. It It’s fun to know what people think and some of them have great things to say about the character and the work I’ve done.”

Before signing off, Ishwak also shared an update on Rocket Boyz 2. I can’t say how soon but probably first quarter of this year or mid year, but it should be out in the near future.”
