Ishant chose Arshdeep before Umran for Test cricket

Ishant suggested that Umran’s lack of red-ball cricket experience is a big reason for ignoring him for the time being. Umran’s current first-class performances do not guarantee an immediate call-up for the Test match. He has taken only 12 wickets in seven matches at an average of 46.67.

Ishant heaped praise on Arshdeep Singh and highlighted his left arm angle and ability to swing the ball both ways. He mentioned Singh’s increased pace and accuracy, which could be a valuable asset for India in Test cricket.

Ishant said, “From the T20 World Cup to this season’s IPL, his pace has increased a lot. How fast you bowl with the old ball is very important in Test cricket.”
