Delhi will observe dry days from May 23 to May 25 and on June 4 due to the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Liquor stores and bars will be closed to ensure public order and fair elections.

All liquor stores and other licensed locations in Delhi, Faridabad, and Gurgaon will be closed from 6 PM on May 23 to 6 PM on May 25 in the wake of the Phase 6 Lok Sabha Elections 2024. On June 4, the result day of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, there will also be no alcohol sales in these cities. This judgement is intended to preserve public order and provide a fair and peaceful electoral process, as directed by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

For this duration, all bars and wine shops in the impacted constituencies and surrounding constituencies will be closed, as per the directive of the ECI.

Licensees will not be compensated for any changes made to the mentioned outline. Every licensee is required to display this order in a prominent location on their approved property. According to the Delhi Excise Department’s directive, a licensee’s place of operation must remain closed on dry days.

On May 25, elections will also be held in Gurgaon, Haryana. A separate set of directives issued by the Gurgaon district administration mandated that all alcoholic beverage establishments in the city stay closed for 48 hours before the Lok Sabha election.

On June 4, which is also the day of the vote count, there will be another dry day. This will continue until the results of the election are declared.

The Lok Sabha Elections 2024’s sixth phase is set for May 25. In this stage, 58 seats in six states and two Union territories will be polled. Notably, all 10 Haryana seats as well as all seven Delhi seats will cast votes during this phase.

Voting for the Lok Sabha elections of 2024 will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. On June 4, the results of the Lok Sabha Elections will be announced after the vote counting. There are 889 candidates competing in this round.

Eight seats in Bihar, ten in Haryana, one in Jammu and Kashmir, four in Jharkhand, seven in Delhi, six in Odisha, fourteen in Uttar Pradesh, and eight in West Bengal will be up for vote.
