A recent social media post has stirred up a debate by labelling Rajma Chawal as the “worst cuisine combination ever” and declaring it overrated.

Indian food has a unique way of making our mouths water, thanks to its rich and diverse array of cuisines that delight our senses. Among these culinary treasures, Rajma Chawal stands out as a true comfort food classic. This beloved combination of kidney beans cooked in a spicy, tangy gravy paired with fragrant rice is a staple in countless Indian households. Whether enjoyed on a cozy day at home or served at a family gathering, Rajma Chawal is a comfort food at its finest, celebrated for its tasty and satisfying nature.

However, a recent social media post has put this beloved dish under spotlight and not in the most flattering way. A page called moniker The Boys Thing on X, has stirred up quite the debate online by labelling Rajma Chawal as the “worst cuisine combination ever” and declaring it overrated. Along with this bold statement, the post featured a mouth-watering plate of Rajma Chawal, garnished with sliced onions, a lemon wedge and fresh coriander leaves.

The caption read, “Rajma chawal is the worst cuisine combination ever and most overrated too.”

The post, shared just a day ago, has generated a buzz online, amassing over 3.5 lakh views. While some users took to criticising the page for its statement about Rajma Chawal, others found themselves in agreement.

One user remarked, “Such a lovely plating and still hating God’s own food,” while another suggested, “Try Rajma with paratha, and never with Chawal… Even better, put one spoon of pure Ghee in Rajma, I said “Suddh Ghee” and you won’t get it in the market…”

A fan of the classic combo chimed in with, “Rajma chawal is goated after dal chawal + aloo bhujia combo.”

Another user felt that Rajma chawal “Is not supposed to be cooked in the way “fancy” restaurants cook it. It should be cooked in a more homely way.”

Someone simply stated, “respectfully, shut up!” and another added, “This is the worst opinion I saw on the internet today. Congrats on your hate clicks.”

The diverse reactions continued to pour in with remarks like “It’s a best combo for corporates!” and “Totally disagree.”

A user in agreement, shared, “Couldn’t agree more!! Being an Indian from the North I never understood the craze although I don’t hate the dish, can have it once in a while but the craze for Rajma Chawal boggles my mind.”

Another admitted, “I honestly couldn’t understand the hype for this. I have tried to like it but it’s just not for me.”

“Agreed About the overrated thing but not the combination. It might haven’t tasted the best version of it yet,” an individual noted.
