Allu Arvind (Allu Arjun’s father) who is the producer of both the films – ‘Shehzada’ and ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’ – has arrived in Mumbai to try and stop the release of the Hindi dubbed version of the latter. Why? A source says, “The Kartik Aaryan Starrer’prince‘ (with Kriti Sanon opposite him) is the official Hindi remake of ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramulu’, which Allu Aravind is co-producing with Bhushan Kumar and Aman Gill. Allu Aravind ideally would like ‘Shehzada’ to be the only Hindi version of ‘Aala Vaikunthapuramulu’.”
However, Manish Girish Shah, who holds the rights for the Hindi dubbed version of ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramulu’, told ETimes when contacted, “Yes, I am releasing the dubbed Hindi version of ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramulu’ on January 26,” and Phone disconnected. We immediately wrote to him to inform him about his latest meeting with Allu Aravind in Mumbai regarding ‘Shehzada’, but Shah did not revert.
Incidentally, Shah also has the satellite rights of ‘Shahzada’. And the interesting thing is that both were sold to him by Allu Aravind!
Change of mind, you see! Of course, Shah may demand a certain amount if he is eventually going to withdraw the dubbed Hindi version.
Not long ago, Shah had said, “We have almost four big release dates in a year and January 26 is one of the biggest days. No Hindi film is releasing that day and that is why I am releasing the dubbed version of ‘Aala Vaikunthapuramulu’.” Let’s wait and see if Shah sticks to his word. Or in other words, if Allu Aravind fails to show her his ‘shehzada’ point of view.
The source adds, “Allu Aravind had reached Mumbai yesterday with his team and the meetings with Shah lasted for two days. We will know soon, January 26 is not far away.”
