India is set to take on Ireland in the two-match T20I series. India are set to play under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, who is expected to do well as a leader after leading Indian Premier League franchise Gujarat Titans to victory in their inaugural season. India have roped in a fresh looking team for the series which is expected to be a test for many. Many of the Indian players in the team have never played in the seaming conditions of Ireland, and this is expected to be a steep learning curve for many players.

On the other hand, it is a great opportunity for the hosts to take on the biggest stars of the Indian Premier League, who have enthralled fans with their talent over the years.

Speaking about the same, spinner George Dockrell has said that regardless of experience, it is a very hungry Indian side, and Ireland will have to be wary of it.

“Look, it is two-pronged in the sense that there will be some inexperience in the context of that group, but at the same time, it is a hungry group of cricketers who are trying to make their mark in international cricket,” said the slow left-hander. The orthodox told the Indian Express.

“Yeah, there’s a lot of personnel changes. With concurrent squads playing around the world, I think it’s quite different. It’s something we’ve seen more and more of of late. But I think for that Indian team. At the same time, it is still loaded with some world-class players,” he said.

Dockrell has hit four fours against India, twice in ODIs and twice in T20Is. He said whenever he plays against India it is a huge learning curve for him.

“Whenever I’ve taken the field against India, every single person you go up against pushes you to where you want to be at this level of international cricket,” he said.

India will expect a strong performance against Ireland. If he plays for the Indian team in two matches, his eyes will be on Umran Malik, Deepak Hooda and Rahul Tripathi.
