Iran unveiled the fourth generation of its Khorramshahr ballistic missile under the name Khyber, which has a range of 2,000 km (1,243 mi) and a mass of 1,500 kg (3,300 lb), the official IRNA news agency reported on Thursday.

Iran has expanded its missile programme, particularly its ballistic missiles, despite protests from the United States and concerns by European countries. Tehran says the program is purely defensive and meant for deterrence.
