IPL: Want to repeat my 2020 performance in upcoming IPL in UAE: DC fast bowler Enrique Nortje | Cricket News – Times of India

Dubai: South African fast bowler Enrique Nortje wants to repeat his last year IPL Performance in the upcoming second half of the T20 league will help Delhi Capitals Won his first title here.
Nortje, who took 22 wickets in 16 matches in his maiden IPL season in 2020, was instrumental in helping DC reach their maiden IPL final, where they finished second against Mumbai Indians last year.
DC will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on September 22 when the season resumes here.
“That was where things started happening for me in the IPL, but I want to take it match by match this season. A lot is happening after the IPL as well,” he said in a release issued by DC.
“We have to try and remember what we did here last time and try to implement it again. Hopefully, we can repeat what we did in United Arab Emirates Last time we were here,” said the 27-year-old.
The fast bowler said that the second half of the IPL 2021 season will be completely different from the first half of the season.
“What works in one place won’t work in another place so we have to take it game-wise. The games coming to the UAE are going to be completely different from the games we did in the first season.
Nortje said, “Maybe in the second half of the tournament, the teams will have different strategies. We have to start now and be ready.”
He feels that playing in the IPL ahead of the T20 World Cup in the UAE is definitely going to be a big advantage for all the players.
“Playing IPL ahead of T20 World Cup is definitely a big advantage. We have a chance to adapt to the conditions and get first-hand experience of wickets here in UAE.”
He said, “The sooner we get to know about the wickets here, the better it will be for all of us. I think every team wants to assess everything as much as possible, but first of all we have to prepare for the IPL. We have to assess the conditions. Because it is definitely a big tournament in itself and then we will get into the T20 World Cup.”
