IPL Retention: Mumbai Indians Full Team

Five-time Indian Premier League champions Mumbai Indians have decided to retain captain Rohit Sharma, pacer Jasprit Bumrah, West Indies stars Kieron Pollard and Suryakumar Yadav ahead of the auction. Mumbai is one of the few franchises who haven’t made much change and changes in their team over the years, which has worked out very well for their team. The team has backed its core players but the limitation of retaining players forced them to release Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya and Quinton de Kock.

Mumbai Indians is the most successful franchise IPL History, which puts extra pressure on them to continue their legacy and two new teams have been added to the tournament from next season.

Right from the start, the team management was clear about retaining their captain Rohit and leading pacer Bumrah, and was a no-brainer for them including Pollard as he has many matches ahead of him. The tough call was between Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan and the team management picked the former. Hardik Pandya, who started his IPL journey with Mumbai in 2015, was released by the franchise after his stellar form over the past year.

4 Kieron Pollard – INR 6 Crore

After retaining four players, the auction purse price of Mumbai Indians has now been reduced from Rs 90 crore to Rs 48 crore. Now it will be a task for them to re-hire the players released during the auction with the amount left.
