IPL 2025: Will Suryakumar Yadav Be The Next Captain Of Mumbai Indians?

Suryakumar Yadav is relishing the role as India’s T20 skipper and on Saturday hinted at an aspiration: to eventually lead an IPL franchise. Ideally, the Mumbai Indians would want to retain Suryakumar. One thing that would be interesting to see is what expectations he will have from the five-time champions considering that he is currently a national team captain himself.

Will Suryakumar Yadav Replace Hardik Pandya To Be The Next MI Captain?

Last season, Hardik Pandya was a talking point after MI management, out of the blue, replaced Rohit Sharma with him as the captain and everything went wrong for the franchise. Since that last IPL, Suryakumar’s profile has really shot up, and with his leadership of the national team, it will be interesting to see what the Mumbai Indians will opt for as they prepare for the forthcoming season.

“For India also feeling good. I captained against Sri Lanka previously against Australia and South Africa also. I have learnt from other captains on how to take the team forward. Aage dekhte hain. Chalte rahta hain. Baaki aapko pata toh chal hee jayega (Let’s see how it goes. Rest you will know in due course of time),” Surya replied when asked about captaincy role in IPL
