“IPL 2023 final has been shifted to reserve day on May 29 – 7:30 PM IST at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad,” read the tweet.
That is, for the first time in history, the final of IPL will be played on Reserve Day.
“Physical tickets for today will be valid tomorrow. We request you to keep the ticket safe and intact,” the tweet further informed.

There was a long wait for the start of the summit clash as both the teams reached the venue around 6:00 in the day, however, it started raining shortly before the toss.
Initially, it was a drizzle which soon turned into heavy rain as the wait for the final started. After several investigations and deliberations, and incessant rain, it was decided that rather than reduce the game to five overs per side or a Super Over, the match was moved to a reserve day on Monday, 29 May.
