There was a dispute between Bangalore fast bowler Mohammad Siraj and Phil Salt of DC

Delhi Capitals registered a surprise win in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) last week by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets. Apart from an enthralling on-field battle, the match between Delhi and Bangalore saw some explosive exchanges of words. Bangalore pacer Mohammed Siraj and DC’s Phil Salt were involved in an altercation during the fifth over of the innings.

Delhi captain David Warner and the on-field umpires eventually had to intervene to separate the two. Salt and his Delhi teammate Riley Rossouw recalled a recent heated altercation. “Were you and Siraj hosting dinner yesterday?” Rossouw was heard saying this in a video shared on the official website of IPL.

Phil Salt didn’t take long to reply. “That’s exactly what he said. He said, ‘Where do you want to go’ and I said, ‘Maybe teppanyaki’. And then he opened fire because he didn’t want to go to teppanyaki, he wanted to go to Bukhara. And I was like, ‘Easy, big dude,’ quipped the player.

IPL fans witnessed a nerve-racking duel between Phil Salt and Mohammed Siraj in the fifth over of Delhi’s innings. After conceding 16 runs in his first three balls, Siraj decided to hit a bouncer in the very next ball. After the short pitch ball, there was a tussle between Siraj and Salt. Salt, however, had the last laugh in the competition. Chasing a formidable target of 182, the 26-year-old played a brilliant knock of 87 runs. The Delhi wicket-keeper produced a blistering match-winning show by hitting eight fours and six sixes. On the other hand, Rail Rossouw smashed 35 off 22 balls to give Delhi a seven-wicket win. Siraj conceded 28 runs in his two overs during the game against David Warner’s men.
