Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw admitted that he was under pressure after being dropped from the XI but a half-century against Punjab Kings eased things for him. After a disappointing start to the season, Shaw was dropped from the Delhi Capitals XI as the management tried out Phil Salt as an opener, while an injury to Mitchell Marsh allowed the Mumbaikar to be back in the squad for the PBKS clash.

He put on a solid 94-run partnership for the opening wicket with skipper David Warner, helping DC register a 15-run victory. After the match, the two indulged in a chat where Shaw said that the hard work he put in in practice helped him score his half-century on Wednesday night.

While Shaw suggested that the DC spinners bowled well, they were a bit casual in the field, which kept PBKS in the match during the mammoth chase.
He said, ‘It was a really tough day for the fast bowlers, but the spinners bowled really well on this wicket. Catches have to be dropped in the match but maybe we were too careless as we scored 217 (213/2). A win is a win,” Shaw said.
