Young Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Riyan Parag is excited to share the dressing room with Ravichandran Ashwin and ‘mind pick’ the star Indian off-spinner in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Ashwin will add to Rajasthan’s firepower in the spin department as he was bought by the inaugural IPL champions for Rs 5 crore after an aggressive bidding war with Delhi Capitals.

Parag will feature in his fourth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when his team begins its campaign in Pune in a fortnight’s time. The Guwahati all-rounder already has 30 IPL matches to his credit and is looking to make the most of his fourth season in the league.

Spin bowling all-rounder Parag said in a release issued by his franchise, “It will definitely be Ashwin. If it is not the best ever, he is one of the best off-spinners in the world.”

“I will definitely try to take a red ball with me to the tournament so that I can get some tips.

“But even with the white ball, I think if I can pick his mind on the varieties and all the secrets. I think my white-ball bowling is going to get a lot better after the season,” he added.

“I started my IPL journey at Royals, and I’m glad I was bought back. I know there were four teams involved in the bidding and it’s nice to see that because it means I’m doing something right.” Parag, who was bought back by RR for Rs 3.80 crore, further added.

The youngster, who recently appeared for his graduation, said that he always wanted to return to the Royals team.

“The reason why this team matters so much to me is because there is a very family atmosphere, where everyone takes care of you, everyone is very friendly and friendly,” he said while in quarantine ahead of the season.

In the recent Ranji Trophy, the Assam cricketer scored 293 runs in six innings at an average of 48.83, with his highest being 91 (vs Uttar Pradesh). He also took seven wickets at an average of 24.42.
