Vivo has pulled out as the IPL title sponsor and handed over the rights to the Tata Group.

The Tata Group, one of India’s largest business conglomerates, is set to replace Chinese mobile maker Vivo as the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League from this year, the governing council of the event decided in a meeting on Tuesday.

“Yes, the Tata group is coming IPL Title sponsor,” IPL chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed the development.
Vivo had a deal worth Rs 2200 crore for title sponsorship rights from 2018-2022, but after the Galwan Valley military face-off between Indian and Chinese army soldiers in 2020, the brand took a break for a year and dream 11 took its place.
However, Vivo was back as a sponsor of the IPL in 2021, with even speculation that they were looking to transfer the rights to a suitable bidder and the BCCI approved the move .
