The BCCI has given owners willing to buy an IPL team till October 5 to submit their bids. With this, two new teams are likely to be added in Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Reports suggest that the chances of Ahmedabad and Lucknow have “increased significantly.”

A BCCI official claims that Lucknow and Ahmedabad are the frontrunners in the race for the new team spot in IPL 2022. The official, on condition of anonymity, said the biggest reason for these teams being ahead is the stadium there. World class facility.

Goenka Group and Aditya Birla Group are at the fore among those showing interest in the Lucknow team, while the Adani Group is betting on the Ahmedabad team.

The construction of the world’s largest cricket stadium was completed in Ahmedabad last year. Atal Bihari Stadium in Lucknow has also recently received an increase in modern facilities.

Rs 5,000 crore profit for BCCI

With the joining of two new teams in the IPL, the BCCI is expected to make a profit of about Rs 5,000 crore. Also, the number of matches in the IPL next year will also increase. According to the information revealed, there can be a total of 74 matches in the IPL 2022 edition.
