Kolkata: A disappointed Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul blamed poor fielding for his team’s 14-run loss at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore. IPL The Eliminator accepted Rajat Patidar’s brilliant century as the difference between the two teams. The 28-year-old Patidar from Indore clinched the IPL Eliminator title for RCB with an unbeaten 54-ball 112.

“I think it’s pretty clear – the reasons why we didn’t win. We fielded ourselves. Dropping easy catches never helped. The difference was obviously Patidar’s kind of innings. When at the top If someone scores a century out of three, the team wins more often,” Rahul said after the match.
Patidar was dropped thrice a day during his century and Rahul was upset with his team’s fielding. “He fielded really well and we were poor,” he said. Although he was happy that they finished in the top four in their first season as a new franchise.
“We will take back a lot of positive things. This is a new franchise. We have made a lot of mistakes, every team does this. Have to try and come back stronger. This is a young team. They will learn from their mistakes, Will go back home and try to be a better player.”
Special praise came from Mohsin Khan, who was once again a shining star in his poor bowling effort. “Mohsin showed everyone how good he is and what skills he has. As he grows with confidence, he will be able to see the speed which is very high. Hopefully by next season he will learn and develop some more skills.”
