Gujarat Titans on Sunday unveiled their team’s official jersey at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad in the presence of captain Hardik Pandya, head coach Ashish Nehra, BCCI secretary Jay Shah and other team officials.

The Ahmedabad based franchise will make their IPL debut with Lucknow Super Giants making it a 10-team IPL 2022 and they will take on the Lucknow franchise in their opening match on March 28.

Asked if he would bowl again, Hardik said it would be a surprise.

“Sir, it will be a surprise, so let it be a surprise,” the 28-year-old said at the jersey launch at his home ground Narendra Modi Stadium.

Hardik was picked by Gujarat Titans in the pre-auction draft for Rs 15 crore and was made the captain as the former Mumbai Indians star will be seen in the new role of leading the team.

Hardik said that captaincy means man management.

“Success is theirs, failure is mine. Our role will be to ensure that the players are comfortable in whatever capacity they can help. There has to be clarity, honesty,” he said.

“In good times they don’t need any of us. But the season will test you, tough times will be there and then we will be there to support them,” Hardik reiterated what he had said during the earlier conversation.

The Gujarat Titans team also includes India opener Shubman Gill, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan, Australia’s Matthew Wade, senior India pacer Mohammed Shami and New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson.
