Captain Rishabh Pant joined the Delhi Capitals squad along with all-rounder Axar Patel in Mumbai ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season, starting March 26. Shardul Thakur, KS Bharat, Kuldeep Yadav and Prithvi Shaw were the other DC players. who joined the team on Wednesday.
“Pant, Axar Patel, KS Bharat, Prithvi Shaw, Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav gathered at the Team Hotel in Mumbai,” a media statement issued by the franchise said on Wednesday.
It said batsman Prithvi Shaw, all-rounder Shardul Thakur and left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav ‘will undergo a mandatory 3-day quarantine before stepping out of their rooms’.

There was a direct bubble-to-bubble transfer of Pant, Akshar and Bharat. He was earlier in the bubble of the Indian team for the recently concluded Test series against Sri Lanka. Earlier on Tuesday, the Capitals appointed former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson as the assistant coach for the upcoming season of the league.
The 40-year-old joins the DC coaching staff including Ricky Ponting (head coach), Praveen Amre (assistant coach), Ajit Agarkar (assistant coach) and James Hopes (bowling coach).
