IPL 2022 auction likely to be held in February: Report

The upcoming season of the Indian Premier League is expected to get bigger with the addition of two new teams – Lucknow and Ahmedabad. The BCCI will give a fair chance to both the teams to form their teams in the mega auction of IPL 2022 as the old eight franchises only retained players as they were allowed to pick a maximum of five. The report also states that it will be a two-day affair as it was in 2018 but the IPL GC is planning to make it more grand this time. Bangalore and Hyderabad have emerged as the two leading cities for IPL 2022 auction keeping in mind the better screening process.

Meanwhile, the retention window for Lucknow and Ahmedabad began on December 1.

The Lucknow franchise has already roped in Andy Flower as its head coach and former India opener Gautam Gambhir as its mentor. Flower was working with Punjab Kings as an assistant coach for the last two seasons.
