With this new feature, iOS users can simultaneously watch YouTube videos in the tiny mini player while browsing other apps on their mobile devices.

The company said in a blog post, “We recognize that this has been a slow roll out for this highly requested feature, and would like to thank everyone who shared feedback during the experiments and waited patiently for this moment.” ” In the US, everyone using the YouTube app on iPhone and iPad will have access to PiP for non-music content.

Globally, all Premium members on iPhone and iPad will have access to PiP for both music and non-musical content. To turn on this feature, users will first have to go to ‘Settings’ and then they can turn on PIP mode by going to ‘General’ on their YouTube app. The company mentioned that even if users don’t turn on PiP, they will still be able to use background play by default, premium members with Android devices already have this feature and will continue to.
