iPhone 15 Pro’s Leaked Render Hints At Major Changes Coming To Volume And Mute Buttons

A CAD model leaked by 9to5Mac indicates that the iPhone 15 Pro may feature a single volume rocker that could be capacitive, allowing users to adjust volume levels based on when they touch the button.

Despite the iPhone 15 series still being several months away from release, rumors and leaks about the new models are gaining momentum. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo first suggested in October last year that the iPhone 15 Pro models could switch from physical buttons to capacitive buttons. Recently, a CAD model leaked by 9to5Mac indicates that the iPhone 15 Pro may feature a single volume rocker that could be capacitive, allowing users to adjust volume levels based on when they touch the button.

Furthermore, a report by 9to5Mac suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro models could feature integrated volume buttons, which could replace the existing separate buttons for volume up and down. The new volume rocker enables users to adjust the volume depending on when the button is pressed.

According to the same report, the traditional mute switch may also get a significant makeover with a new “pressing type button”. Classic design, and similar in functionality to Apple’s ForceTouch technology that MacBooks use in trackpads.

Apart from the hardware changes mentioned earlier, the report suggests that Apple is planning to include the Dynamic Island feature in all iPhone 15 models including the standard iPhone 15. Lightning port with USB-C as the primary charging port.

However, there is also speculation that Apple may choose to lock some features behind proprietary technology, making them only available to users with certified cables and accessories.
