iOS 16 is promising a lot of great features and it looks like Apple has more up its sleeves for iPhone users this year. As per new reports, iOS 16 will let you log into different sites without going through the captcha login system. In it, you have to identify the correct images matching the selection to prove that you are not a robot. So, instead of captcha login, Apple is bringing private access token on iOS 16 for iPhone users.
Apple had a session earlier this month at WWDC 2022 titled Replacing CAPTCHA with Private Access Tokens. Apple has reportedly informed its developers about the use of these tokens. It added that the tokens will help apps identify HTTP requests coming from humans and the correct device allocated to the user. The feature promises better security for apps, and developers get authenticated logins without using captcha.

Apple uses its closed device ecosystem to make the new token work. Login is via Apple ID and your tokens are designed around cryptography to make it difficult to decrypt and are stored securely on your Cloud ID.
Apple has already started working with companies like Fastly and services like Cloudflare. Apple may offer the new login system for iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura via the first set of betas rolling out to users next month.

Tokens have proven to be a useful tool for quick access/login, and it will be interesting to see if Google and Microsoft also consider replacing CAPTCHA with a similar token login system for their users.
