Investors earn over Rs 5.17 lakh crore in 2 days of market rally – Times of India

New Delhi: Investors have gained over Rs 5.17 lakh crore in a two-day equity rally, with the market capitalization of BSE-listed companies hitting an all-time high on Tuesday.
The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 59,744.88, up 445.56 points or 0.75 per cent, on Tuesday, rising for the second consecutive session. The BSE benchmark had jumped 533.74 points, or 0.91 per cent, on Monday.
After a two-day rally, the market capitalization of BSE-listed companies jumped Rs 5,17,836.87 crore to reach their lifetime high of Rs 2,64,78,332.22 crore at the close of trading on Tuesday.
Siddharth Khemka, Head of Retail Research, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd said, “Indian stocks opened with a negative bias, but regained their momentum in the second half as broad-based buying was witnessed in the market ahead of September quarter earnings.” Went.”
IndusInd Bank emerged as the biggest gainer in the pack of 30-share companies, rising 4.60 per cent, followed by Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, HCL Tech and Titan.
In contrast, Sun Pharma, PowerGrid, ITC and UltraTech Cement were among the laggards.
In the broader market, BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rose up to 0.54 per cent.
“The market remained optimistic ahead of the start of the earnings season even though global cues were not supportive,” said Shrikant Chauhan, Head of Equity Research (Retail), Kotak Securities Ltd.
