Invest in India, the growth engine of the world in the next 25 years: Billionaire Anil Agarwal

Mumbai: “Invest in India, now is the time. India will be the growth engine of the global economy for the next 25 years, as China was in previous decades,” said billionaire Anil Agarwal, chairman of Vedanta Resources, ahead of the Dubai inauguration. Expo 2020, the world’s largest event on Thursday.

“Not only is India a huge market, but it also has tremendous human resource capital. Prime Minister Modi’s vision of self-reliance charts a clear growth path for India’s opportunities, with strong reforms. UAE and India a prosperous Cultural and trade share heritage. Both countries have a lot to share and offer each other. A strong partnership will bring new strength to make Asia a global trade hub and lead the world economy in the 21st century ,” said Mr. Agarwal.

The event will run for six months starting from October 1, 2021. More than 190 countries will participate in it. The Bharat Pavilion will have more than 15 state governments and more than seven corporations. Vedanta Limited is one of the corporates present at the event to showcase India’s abundant natural resources and the company’s plans for climate change, biodiversity and ESG.

Further, set India’s economic transformation to reach US$ 10 trillion by 2030 from the current US$ 2.6 trillion by 2025 to a US$ 5 trillion economy under the Prime Minister’s vision.

The real focus will be on harnessing the trade relations between India and UAE by strengthening the economic vision and supplementing human resources to enhance the strong and promising partnership between India and UAE.

On showcasing Biodiversity at India Pavilion Company CEO Mr. Sunil Duggal said, “We at Vedanta believe in the philosophy of zero-harm. Zero-waste, zero discharge, and based on these principles, we need to protect ourselves at some point in time. Should decarbonize to a great extent. When the time comes, we should become carbon neutral. We should become carbon water neutral. With that ambition. We conduct our operations, which do not generate waste. We take care of the flora and fauna We care for the community and do everything possible to ensure that we make a positive contribution to biodiversity.”

The expo is a technology marvel that will capture the vibrant Indian culture and its past, apart from the potential and opportunities it presents as a global economic hub for domestic and foreign investors.

The India Pavilion will see participation from several Indian states showcasing their culture, tradition and tremendous business opportunities along with top corporate groups from India and public sector companies.

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will inaugurate the Indian Pavilion, in which several prominent government ministers will host a number of cultural events during the six months of Expo 2020.
