The theme of this year’s Yoga Day is ‘Yoga for Humanity’. This year the celebrations will focus on ‘Brand India globally’ showcasing their iconic locations

The eighth edition of International Yoga Day will be celebrated across the world on Tuesday (June 21) with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi He is leading the mega exercise from an event in Mysore, Karnataka where over 15,000 yoga enthusiasts are expected to attend.

The BJP will mark the day by organizing yoga sessions at 75,000 places across the country. Union ministers and chief ministers of the BJP, its elected representatives such as MPs and MLAs and party functionaries will participate in various yoga programs.

PM Modi’s yoga program in Mysore is a part of the novel program ‘Guardian Yoga Ring’ to portray the unifying power of yoga across borders between 79 countries and UN organizations as well as Indian missions abroad is a collaboration.

  1. The theme of this year’s Yoga Day is ‘Yoga for Humanity’. The PMO said that the theme showcases how Yoga has served humanity in alleviating suffering during the COVID pandemic.
  2. This year’s celebrations will focus on the ‘brand’ India Showcasing their iconic venues on the Global Stage.
  3. Union Minister of AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal had said that around 25 crore people across the world are expected to participate in various programs doing yoga towards better health and wellness for all.
  4. BJP President JP Nadda will attend a yoga session in Noida while Home Minister Amit Shah will attend an event in Delhi.
  5. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and ministers from 40 districts will participate in Yoga Day programs at 75,000 places across the state. Yogi, who has a target of three and a half crore people, will take part in the practice session at Raj Bhavan in Lucknow.
  6. The Ministry of Culture said in a statement that the National Monuments Authority with the help of the Ministry of Science and Technology will conduct an astrological analysis of the movement of the Sun around the Qutub Minar. The study will determine whether the Qutub Minar is tilted at a certain angle, whether it has any astronomical significance, and whether the tower has zero shadow at local noon on June 21.
  7. Ministry of AYUSH is celebrating International Day of Yoga at 75 iconic places across India. The PMO said that mass yoga demonstrations will be organized at 75 prestigious places across the country under the leadership of 75 Union Ministers.
  8. Law Minister Kiren Rijiju will lead the Yoga Day celebrations in Arunachal Pradesh, India’s easternmost village. Rijiju will lead the program at Dong in Anjou district of Arunachal.
  9. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will lead the ceremony on June 21 at the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya, Gujarat. The Statue of Unity has been chosen as one of the 75 iconic sites for nationwide viewing.
  10. To ensure the grand celebration of Yoga Day, the PM wrote a letter in Hindi to all sarpanches or village heads on May 6. Sonowal said that the AYUSH secretary has requested all the chief secretaries of the states and union territories to facilitate the translation. PM’s letter in the local or regional language of the state and convey it to the village heads through district collectors.
